Is Worst Lifeguards crossplay?
Last checked:
No, and there is nothing to cross to. Worst Lifeguards is announced for exactly one platform: Windows PC on Steam. No console or other-storefront version has been announced, so there is no second group of players to connect you to.
"No crossplay" usually means a game shipped on five platforms and then walled them off from each other. That is not what is happening here. We have announced one platform. Crossplay is a question that starts existing at platform number two, and we are not at platform number two.
What you actually need to play with your friends
All four of you need a Windows PC, a Steam account, and a copy of the game. That is the whole list. There is no split screen, no local co-op and no shared-copy arrangement: four players means four copies.
Consoles
Nothing announced. Not PlayStation, not Xbox, not Switch, not Switch 2. We have not signed anything, we have not said anything, and anybody telling you a console version is coming is filling in a blank we left empty. If that changes, this page changes on the day it changes, with the date on it.
Steam Deck
There is no compatibility rating, because there is no build for Valve to rate. Windows and a keyboard are what the game is being built against first. Deck is on the list, not on the promise.
Remote Play Together
Our Steam page does not carry the Remote Play Together category, and we are not claiming it. Remote Play Together is a genuinely useful workaround for co-op games that only one person in the group owns, so it is worth asking about — but we would rather answer it with a category on the store page than a sentence on our own website.
Controller
Not supported at launch. Keyboard and mouse. That is a real limitation and we are not going to bury it three pages down.
